The Thermage® procedure, using the ThermaCool TC™ System, was developed to help the signs of aging skin by tightening tissue. Using radiofrequency energy, it uniformly heats the dermis while cooling and protecting the epidermis. It is designed to cause immediate collagen contraction followed by new collagen production, which occurs over a matter of months. The Thermage® procedure is the only non-invasive method to tighten loose skin. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and there is no downtime.

One way to get rid of brown spots and dry patchy areas to find the beautiful skin hidden beneath is the BioMedic® Micropeel. This treatment is a three-step process that removes a micro-thin top layer of skin so that the BioMedic® Treatment Program products can penetrate more effectively.
The procedure, which is painless, only takes about 20-30 minutes and you can return to your normal routine immediately following the treatment.

A chemical peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling and restores a more youthful appearance. Depending on your skin type and the desire results, Dr. Bloom will recommend a superficial, medium, or deep chemical peel.

In this procedure, veins are injected with a solution, which causes them to collapse and fade from view. It is unrealistic to believe that every affected vein will disappear completely as a result of treatment. However, sclerotherapy can offer improvement in the appearance of the affected areas.

Traditional waxing and threading treatments, which essentially rip the hair from the skin, can be quite painful. Most people find Palomar Pulsed Light treatments to be significantly more comfortable. In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not need to let your hair grow out before you are treated. With pulsed light treatments, you can remain virtually hair-free all the time. Essentially any area can be treated. Treatments are quick and easy and do not interfere with your normal activities. The Palomar Pulsed Light Systems use a new technology that removes hair up to ten times faster than lasers. As a result, pulsed light treatments can fit even the busiest person’s schedule.

Fraxel™ is a unique noninvasive laser therapy designed to dramatically improve skin texture and pigmentation, including the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, and sun damage. Fraxel™ utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light . The treatment delivers a series of microscopic laser spots, while simultaneously preserving areas of unaffected, healthy skin. The healthy cells in the untouched spots promote rapid healing of the entire area , resulting in faster recovery time and minimal side effects. The result is softer, smoother and healthier skin without an uncomfortable healing period.

Permanent Cosmetic Make-Up
Permanent Cosmetic Make-up is formally called Intradermal Pigmentation. Intradermal Pigmentation is a revolutionary method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. This state of the art technique is medically proven and specifically designed to be completely safe.
Intradermal Pigmentation is used for a variety of permanent cosmetic enhancements such as permanent eyebrows, eye-liner, and lip liner/color. Other permanent cosmetic procedures include vitiligo, stretch marks, scar camouflage, areola restoration, hairline enhancement and more.
The permanent make-up method is completely safe and a virtually painless procedure. These natural pigments are micro-implanted into the dermal layer of the skin with a specially designed machine, forming a natural shadow of color on the skin.
Due to the delicate nature of Micro-Pigment Implantation, most areas of the face experience only a minimal “plucking” sensation. Topical anesthetics are used to reduce any discomfort and promote relaxation.
Some Frequently Asked Questions
Is the procedure painful?
Topical anesthetics are used to minimize the discomfort
Do I have a choice of colors?
Definitely! There is a wide spectrum of colors that you may choose from to achieve the look you desire
Do I have a choice in the placement of pigments?
Of course, you will be fully aware during the procedure, instructing the technician where you wish the implanted pigments to be located. She provides a mirror so you can watch if you wish
What is involved in recovery?
There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin, which will subside quickly. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color.

Permanent Make-Up Applications Create Or Enhance Such Facial Features As:
This procedure for eyebrows can mimic the appearance of hair in the brow line. Anyone who desires more fullness of the brows will love this procedure and the time saved not applying makeup. Eyebrows that are too thin, light, sparse or nonexistent can be filled in to look completely natural.
A subtle, natural look, mimicking thousand of tiny eyelashes with the implantation of pigments in the lash line is popular with both male and female clients. Additional shadowing of color can be added for a soft natural liner or a more bold, definite line can be achieved. Small amounts of pigment are applied at the base of the lash-line, making lashes look fuller then additional pigment may be applied at a follow-up treatment for more definition or color. It’s your choice to make! Opthalmologists often recommend Intradermal Cosmetic procedures for those who are allergic to conventional makeup or for those who wear contact lenses.
The Intradermal Pigmentation procedure for lip color is beautiful. It can appear to change the size and shape of the lips as well as the color. Lip liner corrects asymmetry and adds definition and fullness. Many shades of color are available and are matched to the natural lip color. Full lip color or lip liner treatments are available by appointment.
The choice is yours, but choose wisely.
There are many technicians performing Intradermal Cosmetic procedures. It is important that you do your homework and make certain you are receiving your treatments by a Certified Derma Technician in a safe, clean environment.
Tina MacPerson is a Registered Nurse and also a Certified Derma Technician. She has an advantage over most derma technicians in that she is also a Certified Make-up Artist and can provide an artistic view to your choices for color and application.
In our office, your permanent make-up treatments are performed under the supervision of Bernard H. Bloom, M.D. who is a board certified Plastic Surgeon.
