Liposuction - Abdominoplasty , Tummy Tuck
Male Breast Reduction
Liposuction can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence
by removing unwanted fat deposits in areas that are seemingly
unaffected by diet and/or exercise.

In women, the most commonly affected areas are the abdomen,
hips, and thighs, knees, upper arms, and the neck. Fat deposits
in men most often accumulate on the abdomen, waist, and neck.
Males with gynecomastia (enlarged breasts) may also be good
candidates for liposuction to reduce tissue in the breasts.
It must be pointed out that liposuction should not be viewed
as a means of weight loss. Liposuction is a means of correcting
genetically pre-disposed areas of fat accumulation; thereby,
bringing the body to a more proportioned appearance.
Utilizing internal ultrasound allows more
effective and less traumatic removal of fat.
Dr. Bloom will spend time in consultation with you to determine
the areas that cause you concern and help you to be realistic
in your expectations. The procedure will be carefully explained
during your consultation.
The Procedure
This procedure is performed in our on site certified ambulatory
surgical facility.
First fluid is injected into the area. This is called tumescence. A
Vaser ultrasound cannula is then used to markedly soften the fat.
Next, suction removes the fat. The strength of the ultrasound can be varied
using the Vaser so that it can be used on almost any area of the
body. By first softening the fat, more fatty tissue can be removed with
less trauma. Vaser also reduces bruising, pain, and lessens the
chance of uneven results.

The appearance of a flat stomach might indicate a physically
fit body; however, a healthy diet and regular exercise may sometimes
do little to correct a protruding abdomen. Congenital separation
of the abdominal muscles or pregnancy can stretch the abdominal
wall so that diet and exercise do little to correct the problem. Congenital fat deposits on the abdomen may not respond to diet and exercise either.

After Abdominoplasty, Tummy Tuck |
Abdominoplasty is a procedure that is designed to firm and smooth
the abdomen. The removal of excess skin and fat in conjunction
with tightening the abdominal wall muscles can create a positive
change in the appearance of the abdomen.
The Procedure
This procedure is performed in our certified ambulatory surgical
facility.
First using the ultrasound suction technique the abdominal fat
is trimmed. A curved incision in the lower abdomen
then allows the elevation of the tissue off the abdomen using
an ultrasound scalpel. The muscles are repaired, a new umbilical
position is made, and the excess skin removed. The wound is closed
and most sutures are removed in one week.

This condition is rarely talked about but in fact quite common. The initial consultation with your surgeon is very important. Your chest will be examined and a medical history will be taken to determine any suspected causes for the gynecomastia; such as impaired liver function, use of estrogen-containing medications, or anabolic steroids. If a medical problem is the suspected cause, you will be referred to an appropriate specialist.
Gynecomastia surgery can enhance your appearance and self-confidence. The results of the procedure are significant and permanent. If your expectations are realistic, chances are good that you will be very satisfied with your new look.
The Procedure
This procedure can be safely performed in our on-site certified ambulatory surgical facility and generally takes about two hours to perform.
The procedure consists of liposuction of the fatty tissue of the breast and may require a direct excision of the glandular breast tissue through a small incision around the areola area. The result is a flatter and more contoured chest.
The recovery time is generally very short. A compression dressing is worn for approximately one week, and sutures are removed at that time as well.
Please feel free to call our office for a personal consultation to answer questions about your individual needs.
