Dr. Bloom uses the latest in technology to boost your body’s own healing power. For certain procedures, a small amount of your blood is drawn and your own platelets are combined with special components to create a platelet rich plasma gel. When used during your surgery this gel helps reduce bruising, swelling, and seromas (fluid build-up).
Our registered nurses specialize in the care and recovery of surgical patients and provide one-on-one personal attention to each patient following their surgery.
Patients are given specific medications in surgery to help reduce the possibility of nausea post-operatively. This minimizes the unpleasant experience of nausea and provides more comfort during recovery, both in our surgical recovery area and at home.
Warming blankets are used in surgery and recovery to ensure that our patients are as comfortable as possible.
After the initial recovery period, patients relax in our post-recovery area where family members or friends may join them until they are ready to travel.
The patient’s recovery nurse will attend to their needs until they are released to their caregiver. Caregivers are given detailed, written instructions on how to care for the patient once they are home.
Our patients find it comforting to know that Dr. Bloom is only a phone call away if they or their caregivers have concerns or questions.
